The Center for Asian Ministries (CAM) gives you the opportunity to apply your divinity studies to real-life needs.

In 2003, after nearly 20 years of community dedication and activism, CAM finally celebrated its highly-anticipated Grand Opening on December 18, with nearly a thousand people in attendance.

This historic event was made possible thanks to strong leadership and generous support from the City of Los Angeles, the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, community-based organizations, public and private grantors, and countless donors, contributors and volunteers.

CAM not only provides fellowship for local Asians but is also a venue for all students who want to serve in Asian ministry.

During the following years, Chinese American families and businesses donated their cherished possessions to the museum.The El Pueblo Commission initially budgeted 0,000 for CAM’s development.However, CHSSC was able to collect ,000 with a special community fundraiser.Under the Direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Advancement is responsible for the fundraising, financial development, communications, public affairs, marketing, publicity and social media activities of the organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFundraising and Financial Development Responsibilities: About the Chinese American Museum Symbolically housed in the oldest and last surviving structure of Los Angeles’ original Chinatown the Chinese American Museum (CAM) embodies a cultural and physical link to the past, as well as a promising point of entry for the city’s multicultural future.
